Party time in Dilworth.
Party time in Dilworth. In December Vicki and William Lipscomb had their annual Christmas Party and what an event it was. William and Vicki have a very diverse collection of friends and neighbors (myself included) who attend the party, some have been coming every year for 15 years. I ran into people I knew from theatre the symphony, banking, local musicians and a couple of folks I knew from the seminars with Landmark Education. Dilworthians are some of the most exciting eclectic and talented people in Charlotte. What a treat to share food and drink with so many at one time. The food was an event in itself not to mention the wine was flowing. Bagpipes were a great surprise, a tradition honoring the families heritage who come from all over to help with the party. Can’t wait till the next time.
35th Spring Fling at the home of Suzanne and Brian Sigmon
And then the 35th Spring Fling at the home of Suzanne and Brian Sigmon was a champagne, croquet covered dish extravaganza. Being a daytime affair folks dropped in and out all day. Some of the most beautiful children I have ever seen attended and played games especially croquet. Ahh the food! I do believe Dilworth boasts some of the best cooks in Charlotte. The champagne was flowing and everyone had a beautiful time.
Pilates at the Dowd Ymca on Morehead Street in Dilworth
Liz Johnson teaches Pilates at the Dowd Ymca on Morehead Street in Dilworth. If you have the distinct pleasure of attending her Friday morning class at 11:00am you are in for a real treat. She has been teaching there for 10 years. Everyone who knows her and attends her classes are loyal fans who love to be in her space. Her gift for gab relaxes and familiarizes the class with one another. Her music is oh so fabulous. It is wonderful to get the same experience every time. I always leave there feeling uplifted, stretched out and just a little bit taller.
MACS Speed Shop 2511 SOUTH BOULEVARD 704 522 6227
Along with the Grandchildren Devlin and Haley we had dinner at Mac’s Speed Shop on South Blvd. a few weeks ago. We had the ribs and slaw my very favorite which we shared. The children had onion rings and nachos. I asked them for their take on the food. Devlin is 8 years old he said “The onion rings are so good the nachos are the best but my favorite is the sweet tea.” Haley is 11 years old a very picky eater but her quote “These are the best ribs I have ever tasted.” The atmosphere, early for dinner, is entertaining for the whole family. Along with TV screens going and great rock and roll in the background, lots of characters to observe, we really enjoyed the whole scene. The children keep asking when we can go back again.
I want this to be fun and informative for you all. If you have any news regarding Dilworth businesses or residents please go to my Contact Page email me and I will include you in my next Newsletter
