Having been a member at the Dowd YMCA for many years I am amazed every time I make it to one of Desiree's classes. Having exercised for years in all types of classes the energy and inspiration I get in her class is over the top. There is something about her that makes you want to work harder than you ever have and keep coming back for more. Desiree teaches 12 classes a week at the "Y" and is always on. She came to us from New York about six years ago and loves Charlotte. When I asked her what was something few people might not know about her she said "I used to be a size 16. Now I am a size 2 and eat pretty much what I like, and I love to cook." Having competed in amateur Power Lifting she is definetly a power house. Her classes are hard but so much fun drawing up to 75 people in one class, and I might ad not for the faint of heart. She also offers Personal Training Classes. So if this is what you are looking for she is it. Dilworth is blessed to have her with us.

Just opened, is an adorable Italian Deli. Located between Art's Bar BQ and Frankie's, it is offering authentic Italian imported wines, cheeses, pastas and meats. My friend Emily and I had dinner there and we both agree it is the best spaghetti sauce we have tasted. We had yummy meatballs and spicy cold slaw. It is small and intimate and Frank Sinatra music playing in the background. Alphonso the owner prepares a variety of entrees to go or you can have them heated and dine there. Great vibes, good food and so friendly. With a full Deli menu all your Italian taste buds promise to be satisfied.
