What a thrill it was to win a two night stay at the Atlantic Breeze Ocean Resort. My husband and daughters were so excited they couldn't wait to go, so we planned our trip for December 28th and 29th. We had been so busy with Christmas, we thought it would be a nice time to get away for a few days and enjoy some time together.

We arrived late in the afternoon on the 28th. It took only a few moments to check-in and we were off to our room. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door. There were 3 good sized bedrooms with huge televisions. The living area was so spacious - there was a complete kitchen, dining area and living room. We had more than enough space to spread out. Then we stepped out onto the balcony. It stretched from the master bedroom to the living area with plenty of seating. The view of Myrtle Beach was spectacular.

We ventured out that night and found a great restaurant called the Inlet Crab House Restaurant & Raw Bar in Murrell's Inlet. Put this restaurant on your list to visit because it had a great casual atmosphere, the food was wonderful and very reasonably priced. They also have some of the best hush puppies I have ever eaten.

The rest of our stay was very pleasant. We found a pancake house close by and had a huge breakfast. From there we went shopping and then headed back to the resort. Even though it was only 45 degrees outside, we walked on the beach for over an hour finding all kinds of shells. We fixed some hot chocolate when we got back to our room and sat out on the balcony sipping our hot chocolate and watching the beach goers. The warmth of the sun kept us from being cold.

Overall, my family had a wonderful time. We enjoyed our stay at the Atlantic Breeze Ocean Resort. The staff there was very pleasant and the location was perfect. I hope to go back over the summer and enjoy their pool and lazy river.

When I first heard Y n I thought no whining even in a wine bar, but later found out it was a great place to drink, eat and be merry. I love little intimate spaces with all of that to enjoy. This place is located off the lobby and parking deck of Latta Pavillion right behind 131 Main. As a matter of fact the owners are one and the same. They share the same kitchen so you are guaranteed to partake in the most delicious Small Plates, Cheeses, Charcuterie and the wine list is extensive along with special martinis and all the cocktail choices. We had the short ribs –with shitake-cabernet jus and white cheddar grits. We also had the smoked salmon nachos with gruyere béchamel, capers and red onions. Glasses of red and white wine were on special 5.00 so I had several of the red and it was superb. Small Plates range from 6.00 to 13.00 and they are extremely large for Small Plates. The music was folk and ballads. In front of the one or two musicians were long curved couches for lounging and listening. I loved the sink in the ladies room and the gaslights on the wall next to the bar were really sexy. I will return soon.

Operating Partners Jeff Van Dyke, Bryce Rech and Jamie Jenkins had a vision for fresh seafood in Dilworth. We have made the food somewhat sophisticated, but approachable. A laid back, kid friendly atmosphere that is reminiscent of the beach without being cliche was a must. We achieved that by brightening the place up with a soft color scheme, putting lots of polished maple furniture in place and playing really great music. We have a very talented chef, Greg Guthrie managing our cuisine. He is a graduate of Johnson and Wales way back from the Charleston days. He learned how to do seafood on the coast and our menu shines because of it.

We use local providers and have fresh seafood delivered daily. Our cocktail menu is another highlight! We have fresh pressed sugarcane for our Mojitos and we make our own fresh limeade sour-mix for the multitude of margaritas. Did I mention the Bloody Mary? If cold beer is your thing, we got you covered with lots of great craft beers and a few Belgians thrown into the mix. Our wine list was put together by Tim Wallace, owner of The Wine Vault. Tim has really focused on a value driven list. He has a wonderful pallet and has paired the wines beautifully with the menu offerings. All of this can be enjoyed upstairs on our 50 seat roof top patio when spring finally rolls into town.
